Poppy Ionides is Thinking Assessment. She has been learning about learning and thinking about thinking since a tranche of tutees caught her imagination during a holiday job whilst studying neuroscience at Cambridge University.
During 25 years working in education she's had extensive experience in the world of assessment. This includes ongoing consultancy on the use and development of assessment products for governments and commercial organisations, and problem-solving with hundreds of schools, children and families across the UK and internationally as an educational psychologist.
Her time in education has also included teaching science in a comprehensive in an east-London overspill town (with a coveted Best Teacher in School award from the class of 2004 to whom she will be ever grateful for teaching her so much), tutoring children across Europe and the US, leading the learning support department in an idyllic prep school in north Norfolk and receiving exacting lessons from her own three children.
